We supply NIR COB LED emitters from 740 nm to 1300 nm on a made-to-order basis, with no minimum order quantity, to manufacturers, system integrators, universities, and research institutions across the United States. Orders are shipped either direct from REVOX in Kanagawa, Japan, or through our Torrance, California office, and we confirm the shipping route and lead time with every quote.
These are bare COB LED emitters (components), not finished illuminators. Each device is a 16-chip chip-on-board array on a 28.0 × 26.8 mm package with a built-in 10 kΩ NTC thermistor for real-time junction temperature monitoring, rated for 16 A forward current and a 120° viewing angle.

Radiant flux is measured with a spectrometer (NIR Quest) at Tc = 25 °C. Refer to each product page for the full datasheet, including minimum and maximum ratings, characteristic curves, and outline drawings.
How to select an NIR emitter
Match the wavelength to your camera sensor. Silicon sensors lose sensitivity beyond roughly 1000 nm, so wavelengths of 1060 nm and longer generally require an InGaAs camera. At 740 nm, standard silicon CMOS sensors still respond well, which is why 740 nm remains the most common choice for NIR machine vision built on conventional cameras.
Specify radiant flux, not lumens. NIR output is invisible, so photometric units are meaningless here. Every device above is rated in watts of radiant flux at a defined forward current. Note that available flux drops as wavelength increases: 15.09 W at 740 nm versus 3.64 W at 1300 nm. Budget your irradiance at the working distance accordingly.
Check the spectral half-width. Half-width ranges from 36 nm at 740 nm to 78 nm at 1300 nm. If your application uses a bandpass filter or depends on narrow spectral contrast, the wider NIR bands may require filter re-specification.
Plan the thermal path. Thermal resistance is 0.3 °C/W for 1060–1150 nm devices, 0.8 °C/W at 740 nm, and 1.0 °C/W at 1200–1300 nm. All devices include a built-in NTC thermistor so you can monitor temperature in the final assembly. Junction temperature is limited to 125 °C.
Confirm continuous versus pulsed operation. The 740 nm device is rated for 16 A continuous and 32 A pulsed. Contact us before overdriving any device beyond its datasheet rating.

Custom wavelengths and configurations
REVOX assembles its COB and SMD packages in-house in Japan, with die bonding, wire bonding and phosphor coating all performed on its own equipment. Owning the die bonding process is what allows the arrays to be packed this tightly: chips are placed with a chip-to-chip gap of 60 µm, which keeps the emitting area compact enough to couple efficiently into lenses and fiber optics. Because the whole assembly line is in-house, wavelengths outside this catalog can be produced to order, including longer infrared and mixed-wavelength arrays. Chip count, array layout, substrate, and package dimensions are also configurable. Send us your target wavelength, required optical power, and annual quantity and we will quote a custom device.
Standard products cover 365 to 1,650 nm. Wavelengths outside that range, and other chip counts, array layouts or package sizes, are made to order. Tell us the wavelength and quantity you need and we will confirm feasibility with REVOX.
Pricing and lead time
All products are quoted individually, because pricing depends on wavelength, optical power, chip configuration, and quantity. Use the Request a Quote form on any product page, submit the Custom Order Form for non-standard requirements, or email sales@terapowerled.com.
These products are purchased in the United States from TeraPower LED. You order from and are invoiced by a U.S. company in Torrance, California, and we handle export, import, customs clearance, and delivery to your site, so there is no need to order from Japan or import the devices yourself.
